Maxim Cabernet Sauvignon offers a substantial, classic red from Goedverwacht Family Wines. Its single vineyard lies on the southern slopes of the estate’s De Kaap section, where the terrain calls for hand harvesting. Weathered shale soils and careful fruit selection underpin this Robertson Valley wine, with French oak contributing to its layered character.
Tasting Notes: Mulberry and cedar aromas open onto plum, cherry and blackcurrant flavours. Cassis, berries and spicy oak bring depth, with the wood woven into the fruit rather than dominating the palate.
Food Pairings: Seared beef fillet or oxtail potjie.
