Arendsig Vineyard Estate
Bonnievale | Robertson | Western Cape
Arendsig Vineyard is a boutique, family-owned wine estate in the Robertson region, known for its hands-on approach and wines that reflect authenticity, place, and people. With a strong focus on sustainable farming and minimal intervention, Arendsig produces honest wines that are deeply connected to their vineyards.
A Family-Owned Estate Rooted in Robertson
Arendsig Vineyard is situated in the Robertson Valley, a region shaped by sunshine, limestone-rich soils, and a long agricultural heritage. Established as a family-run estate, Arendsig places great emphasis on working closely with the land, treating farming as a partnership rather than a process. The name Arendsig, meaning “eagle’s view”, reflects both the elevated position of the vineyards and the estate’s long-term vision of stewardship, sustainability, and respect for nature. Each vineyard block is carefully managed to ensure healthy vines and expressive fruit.
Hands-On Winemaking with Minimal Intervention
Winemaking at Arendsig is guided by a belief that great wine starts in the vineyard and should be shaped, not forced, in the cellar. Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified with a light touch, allowing varietal character, soil, and season to shine through naturally. The focus is on balance, texture, and drinkability rather than heavy extraction or excessive oak. This approach results in wines that are honest, site-driven, and approachable, offering a clear sense of place and a genuine expression of the Arendsig philosophy.
