Lemberg Wine Estate
Tulbagh | Witzenberg | Western Cape
Tulbagh is the smallest wine region in South Africa and is also well known for its scenery and fertile basin. It is here where the boutique wine farm, Lemberg Wine Estate, is nestled – surrounded by the views of the Witzenberg en Winterhoek Mountains – 120km northeast of Cape Town and 5km south of the historic Tulbagh town.
A Trusted Link Between Estate & Market
Lemberg Wine Estate was established in 1978 by acclaimed winemaker Janey Muller and quickly earned a reputation for distinctive Sauvignon Blanc and the rare Hungarian varietal Hárslevelü. The estate’s name pays tribute to Lemberg, now known as Lviv in Ukraine, reflecting its European roots and heritage. Since its purchase in 2007, this boutique wine estate has undergone careful development in both the vineyard and cellar, expanding to a production capacity of around 100 tons. New plantings include Pinot Noir, Grenache Noir, Pinotage, Syrah and Viognier, while the original Sauvignon Blanc vineyards continue to deliver exceptional fruit alongside the ever-intriguing Hárslevelü.
